Galvanized Steel Tanks

Durable and efficient storage solutions

The cylindrical galvanized steel tanks are configurable in capacities from 10 m³ to 25,000 m³, with multiple roof options: flat, conical, or dome.

Lower costs compared to welded carbon steel tanks and other types of tanks.

Easy and fast installation: for example, a 500 m³ tank can be installed in less than 5 days.
Flexibility and efficiency: the tank capacity can be easily expanded at minimal cost.
Mobility: tanks can be dismantled quickly and reinstalled at other sites.

Design details

Each storage tank is designed individually or as a storage system integrated into the technological process, based on any strict requirements of the project and the applicable normatives, in order to reduce a wide range of the total operational costs of the beneficiary.

Highberg Solution storage systems are engineered to meet all static and dynamic load calculations (wind, seismic, snow), specific to each location, and in compliance with national and international standards.

Every solution designed under the identity of Highberg Solution includes foundation design, orientation and positioning of all internal piping, including their interconnection with the equipments from the technological flow. These services are included in the price of every tank solution and are strictly defined for each project.

Components

Roof – Depending on the stored liquid and tank diameter, roofs range from simple flat designs with drainage slope to more complex conical or dome structures.

Tank body – Made of hot-dip galvanized structural steel panels with up to 600 g/m² Zn coating in thicknesses ranging from 2 to 20 mm, optionally painted in any RAL colour. The panels are assembled with torque-controlled fasteners, with hydraulic piping connections serving the process flow. The anchoring systems, bracing, and other required subassemblies are determined by structural calculations and included in the client’s configuration.

Sealants and gaskets – Special sealing mastics and gaskets are applied between glass-fused steel panels to ensure complete watertightness. Selected specifically for each project based on the chemical composition of the stored fluid.

Thermal insulation – Installed either inside (polystyrene and sandwich panels) or outside (mineral wool), according to heat transfer calculations applicable for the location of the site. The insulation can also be customized based on the client’s process temperature requirements.

Liner – Like thermal insulation, it is installed inside the tank to eliminate direct contact between liquid and the metal structure. The type of material from which the liner will be made will be chosen depending to the stored fluid, its concentration and temperature, ensuring the total absence of chemical reaction between the material and the fluid.

Accessories – We provide a wide range of accessories, including: heating coils (any format), spiral and vertical ladders and stairs of any type and standard, advanced SCADA automation and monitoring systems, immersion heaters up to 12 kW, side access manways for maintenance, and complex hydraulic systems in stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized steel.

Applicable standards and specific certifications

The design and production of HIGHBERG SOLUTION tanks is carried out in compliance with the strictest international standards and certifications: FM Global, NFPA, VdS, EN 1090-1, EXC2, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 etc.

Roof options

The following types of roofs can be installed for cylindrical tanks made of galvanized steel:

Horizontal type roof made of sandwich panels.

Dome roof system, made of aluminum or other galvanized steel profiles.

Conical roof system, made of aluminum or other galvanized steel profiles.
